Tom and Huck swear not to tell a soul about what they saw. So to keep themselves form telling anybody else they wrote a vow, (well the book as swear but it the same thing) anyway they write on a shingle in blood. I sorta see why they do this but I would never write in blood. They believed that by writing it in blood that they would die right away if they ever anyone.
Later in the chapter the hear and see a dog, well a stray dog and it’s another superstition that they believe so now they think they are goners. I really don’t get because what does a stray dog have to do with death.
Tom finally gets home and then the chapter ends with Tom getting in trouble for playing hooky and for sneaking out the night before. And then just when Tom thinks the day couldn't get worse it does, he found the brass knob that he gave to Becky in a piece of paper.
O.k. the last sentence of that Mark Twain wrote in this chapter was “This final feather broke the camel's back." The way I took it was that Tom has had enough. So what do you think Mark Twain meant when he wrote it.
What is your thought on this chapter?

Chapter 9
I didn't really like this chapter, it's very superstitions and I didn't really care for it. I liked the ending of the chapter because it was interesting to see if Tom and Huck would come out of hiding or what might happened if one of the other people saw them(Tom and Huck). I was able to imagine being there but I didn't like what I saw in my mind. The picture I had there wasn't something I wanted.
In the chapter Tom and Huck are the graveyard and they witness the murder of the Doctor.
What is your opinion of the chapter?
What do you think of Injun Joe?
Do you think Tom and Huck will ever tell about what they saw?

Chapter 8
Well I thought that this was a pretty fun chapter. Couldn't you just imagine Tom and Joe dancing around taking stabs at eachother? Deciding who would kill who. Were you at all surprised by the mention of Robin Hood? What did you think about all of the superstitions that Tom believes in? And blaming the witch on it not working. I had to read the first page or so through a couple times to get the whole meaning. What really confused you in this chapter? I thought it just didn't flow together as well as it normally does and the grammar was very (I'd like to say old here).
Over-all what did you think?

Chapter 7
So Tom is very bored in school and brings his charished tick out to exercise him...Interesting how he and his friend handle playing with the tick and trading eachother's goods once again.
What exactly do you think the teacher did to them as a punishment?
Do you think Tom ever feels ashamed to be made a fool of in front of the class?
For the afternoon break of school he meets Becky at the end of the lane. I think he is very cute with how he approaches talking to her. They talk a bit but I am more interested in how they acted towards eachother. I didn't expect that the girl liked him that much. Do you think that she is faking it or is just very sensitive and just an unexpected tyoe of girl.
Do you think that Tom giving her that bronze knob would ahve solved anything?
Do you think that when she yelled for Tom to come back she wanted to say sorry or to tell him that she hated him???
I liked this chapter over all hope all of you read it...It's getting a lot better!!! -Alison

Chapter 6
Tom gets in more trouble and meets the new girl. Tom stopped to talk to Huckleberry Finn. Tom was late to school, got in trouble and had to sit with the girls. That is what he wanted so it isn’t much of a punishment. He sits by the new girl which is Becky Thatcher. Tom gets her attention and she gets mad. Then for the rest of the day he can’t stay focus on the schoolwork. That’s how the Chapter ends.
What are Tom’s intentions for trading a tooth for a tick?
Why do you think Tom trades so much?
What do you think Tom is thinking when he does the trading?
Do you think Tom actually likes Becky or just likes her because she the new girl?
