So Chapter 23 was a little bit of a depressing chapter don't you think? I mean all the talk about hanging and the scared note of Huck's voice. (Even though you can't hear him, you can tell he's really nervous.)
This chapter starts out with Huck and Tom visiting Potter. What do you think about the ease of being able to talk to and give tabacoo and matches to Potter?
Then the next day is the trial, everyone's assumed that Potter is as good as dead, until Tom's little surprise. What do you think about Tom's surprise, is it the right or wrong thing to do?
What is your reaction to Injun Joe being called a Half-Breed? So Joe is on the loose, are you at all nervous for Tom and Huck?

Im a little nervous for tom and huck. Injun Joe being called a half bread didn't bother me.
Yes I’m nervous for Tom and Huck. But I think that Tom did the right think about taking the stand. He felt guilty about Potter being in jail. So to make things right on Potter's account he took the stand. It was brave for Tom to come forward about what he knows, even when he know how dangerous Injun Joe can be.
I wasn’t surprise that Injun Joe was called a Half-Breed because of the time the book was written in. I just think it’s a little mean to Injun Joe.
I'm a little nervous for the boys. But I think if they cross paths with Injun Joe, the boys will be fine, not in a lot of trouble. I don't think they will have a lot of problems with him.
