Chapter 16

Joe starts to feel homesick but Tom tries to talk him out of it, and soon Huck starts missing his home too. So Tom tells them what he was planning and then they get over the homesick part and do some of the actives that they did before.
Then a couple of days later Tom and Joe want to learn how to smoke a pipe, so Huck makes them a pipe and the smoke. Later after the smoke both Tom and Joe got sick but they were trying to hide it from Huck.
The next day it starts to rain and just a light rain, a thunder storm with heavy rain, they left camp. When the storm was over they went back to camp and everything that they had was soaked. So after the sun comes up they found a place to rest that wasn't wet and fell asleep.
Tom wakes up and starts felling homesick again bur then he comes up with the idea of becoming or acting like Indians. So they cover themselves in mud. Then they make separate tribes and started was with each other. When dinner comes they head back to camp and make peace with one another over a smoke. And two of them start wishing that they stay pirates. Mark Twain doesn't say who, but I'm guess it was Tom and Joe that wanted to stay pirates because last time they smoked they got sick. This time they were able to have a smoke without getting sick.
That's pretty much of the chapter ends.

If you had the choice to hang out with your two best friends on an island without any grown ups or any worries would you, and if so what would you do?

Now this is assuming that your two best friends are the same gender as you. And you are Tom's age which is around ten.
