This chapter starts Saturday afternoon, when Becky Thatcher is in the school yard and starts talking to herself about how she misses Tom and then some of the other students join her and all going back and forth say who Tom, Joe , or Huck last.
Monday they had the funeral for the boys. The minister starts service and after a while everyone becomes sad and a lot of people begin to cry the door opens and minister sees them come in and he's surprised and he probably can't believe his eyes. Tom, Joe, and Huck come in and everyone was happy to see Joe and Tom. Not a lot of people were so happy for seeing Huck, so Tom takes Huck and says to his aunt "Aunt Polly, it ain't fair. Somebody's got to be glad to see Huck." Then Aunt Polly says to Huck "I'm glad to see you."
The chapter ends with everyone being happy at least for the most part.
Do you think that the town was little upset with the boys?
You know getting them all worried and thinking that they died and then come the day of their funeral.
