Not much happened in this chapter. I found it really, really boring, mean there wasn't converstion or action if this chapter.
The Town gets wind of what has happened. Muff Potter gets thorwn in to jail and Tom comes to see him every other day or something like that. Then Tom starts talking in his sleep, and keeps Sid up during the night. Then the chapter ends with Twain talking about how the town dosen't really like Injun Joe.
I really don't have a question for you so please share your thoughts on the chapter, book, or something that you liked or didn't like up to this point.
So... your thoughts are.....

I think quite a lot happened in this chapter. First, we find out how easily the towns people are to jump to conclusions based on rumors and innuendo instead of facts. Then we see Ned Potter come back hoping Injun Joe will somehow say something to save him.
Injun Joe is a conniver for sure. He tells his version of the story without so much as the blink of an eye. And the townspeople believe him, even though he's an unlikeable sort.
Tom is filled with remorse. He even has bad dreams about it and isn't himself when he plays with his friends. But he's not so filled with remorse that he will tell what he saw. I'm not sure I would either.
I wonder if he'll change his mind.
He might change his mind when he realizes that he cannot live like this. Having to tape his mouth shut at night, so he won’t talk about anything he doesn’t want his Aunt to know.
Yeah there really wasn't much to this chapter. I have to say this was my least favorite chapter of the book.
